Finance officer report: Gen $7192.77, Savings $11010.57; Flag $6976.98; Americanism $9994.79
Service Officer report: No cases
Freddie Castro gave a brief report on the Oratorical Contest.
Poppy committee report: Conley Wicker reported 5000 poppies on hand. Next poppy day May 23, 2020.
Membership report: Adjutant Don Kuntze reported Post membership exceeded 104%.
Boys State/ Scholarship report: Adjutant will meet with school counselors and provide info for delegates.
Post awards chairman Paul Ray: provide him with nominations AND bio.
Constitution committee: Conley Wicker brought forward the first changes to the Post constitution: in Article XVII Section 17.02--strike the words ...submitted in writing... and read.... Motion to accept by Conley Wicker and second by Marie Enderton. Motion passed. Adjutant suggested that members make pen and ink change to the new copies. Approved. New constitution will be emailed to all members and printed copies will be available at the next meeting for vote of approval.
Public Affairs report: Adjutant reported on Washington Conference--met with Tom Cole, Jim Inhofe, James Lankford, Frank Lucas, Kevin Hern.
Boys State report: Adjutant to meet with High School Public Affairs Kirk Wilson and Counselors to discuss Boys State and scholarship programs.
Adjutant stated that in the recent years Post 353 has awarded Military Excellence and Scholastic Excellence medals to two JROTC Cadets, and have also presented each with a check for $100. Adjutant asked for a motion to present each $100 again this year. Motion by John Bishop to present each JROTC recipient with $100 check and that it be a perpetual presentation given annually. Second by Paul Ray. Motion passed. In each upcoming year, the JROTC Military Excellence and Scholastic Excellence recipients will also receive a check for $100.
Golf tournament report: Doug Gingerich--Next tournament will be at Choctaw Creek on 29 August, 2020. $65 entry fee, cost per player from course is $37 and $12 lunch.
Department requested a donation for a Tulsa resident, Mrs. Pollard. Department deeded her an old post building that is in need of repair. Exec committee recommended a donation of $100. Motion by Allen Bentley, second by Doug Gingerich. Motion passed.
Last meeting Steve Hendrix requested that the post donate a ceremonial bugle to an organization, Flagpoles For Veterans, that provided flagpoles for veterans.. The executive committee suggested that the organization solicit donations via facebook and social media and the post will check in a month or so to see if they were successful in receiving contributions.
Motion by Allen Bentley to purchase 50 AL coins at $9 each. Second by Doug Gingerich. These coins are presented to our member's family at their funeral and other special events. Motion approved.
Nominating Committee: Conley Wicker, John Traffanstedt, John Sherrick, Don Kuntze. Adjutant presented the first nominations for elections. Reminded that all positions are available for election. Asked for nominations from the floor--no additional nominations at this time.
